"GOING TO A CLINIC/HOSPITAL"

Depending on the countries, medical examination system differs. Here's an introduction of the way to receive medical examination and treatment in Japan.
First of all, please check the followings before you get sick.

CHECK 1.

Check the name and telephone number of a clinic or hospital located nearby your residence.

CHECK 2.

If you worry about Japanese, we recommend you to go with your Japanese friend.

CHECK 3.

Don't forget bring your Health Insurance Card called "Hokensho" if you have it.

<At a Clinic / Hospital>

STEP-1 RECEPTION ("Uketuke")

[First-time patients]
- 1. Tell receptionist that you're first-time patient. In case that there is a patient general information form, fill out the form and show your health insurance card ("Hokensho").
- 2. At this time, please keep a number card and consultation card if you are given them.
- 3. Wait to be called your name or number, and follow the instruction to the next step.

[Second-time]
Show your consultation card to reception. Please confirm if there is a number card at the reception. In case that number cards exist, take one, and wait to be called your name or number.

STEP - 2 EXAMINATION ("Shinsatu")

STEP - 3 ACCOUNTS ("Kaikei")

CASE 1.
Wait to your name is called at the waiting room, and then you will receive your medicines and pay the bill.

CASE 2.
1. After you were called your name, go to the Accounting Section (Kaikei) according to the instruction, and then you will receive the bill for your medical treatment.
2. Next, go to the payments section ("Shiharai Madoguchi").
3. Finally, go to the pharmacy ("Yakkyoku") to be given your medicines.
