Date: January 16th, 2004

The story about "Eto" and its' 12 animals was introduced
in the previous issu. Did you like it?
Speaking of animal, have you noticed that each column of
Treasure Box is designed with frog and rabbit pattern on
the wall? This design is called "Cho-jyu-giga" (= Birds
and Beasts Caricature), based on a picture scroll made
in the 12th century which is a satire of real life with
a personification by frog, rabbit, monkey, fox, etc. and
painted with black-and-white ink. The author is unkown
and desiganated as a national treasure. The wall is one
of famous scene that frog and rabbit wrestle sumo.

After New Year's holiday passed, our web site have renewed
to winter version. Some beautiful winter scenes of Japan
are introduced, so drop by our site and check them out.
