Even if a doctor made a mistake which resulted in a patient’s death, unless the doctor himself confesses and accepts his negligence, it almost may never come to light. To take repeated medical mistakes seriously, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has decided to begin a new clinical training system starting next year. Based on the fact that the existing intern doctor system places a disproportionate emphasis on the university hospital and the department of one medical examination, it therefore produces doctors who are ignorant of the outside domain and have a narrow view and technology. The new system imposes a duty of clinical training of at least 7 medical examinations, such as internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and emergency, for two years to those who graduate from the medical department and pass a doctor's state examination. However, I think the most important thing is to recover the doctor's morals, isn’t it? Although it is difficult to eliminate mistakes completely, the confidential relationship of a doctor and a patient consists of not concealing the fault, but releasing and explaining it.
