RESTAURANT <019>
Women love sweets, but to our regret, sweets are generally thought as a source of fat or harmful to our health. However, according to Chinese epicurean culture, which has been cultivated for a long time and considers foods as medicinal remedy, sweets are the finishing touch to a complete meal and absolutely indispensable. Based on this philosophy, a specialty restaurant of sweets started up in Hong Kong, rapidly gained popularity and eventually setting up a branch here in Japan as well. The restaurant we would like to introduce today is a wonderful restaurant especially for the sweet tooth, the "Tou Chou" Aoyama branch. Although the Hong Kong head restaurant offers only sweets, the Aoyama branch offers us not only sweets but also meals like Dim sum so that we may enjoy the meals and give a finishing touch to it with their specialty sweets. Though sweets may be in the limelight, dishes cooked with Hong Kong Noodles (they are produced specially in commemoration of the opening of branch) are also highly recommended. The noodles are very thin and delicate but are firm to the bite, very nice served in a seafood broth (like Ragmen) or equally delicious when they are fried in soy sauce (Hong Kong style Yak-soda). Besides them, we can enjoy a lot of variation of dishes such as Spring Roll or Fried Rice Cake or Rice Gruel...etc. But most importantly, don't forget to complete your meal by ordering one of their desserts! The restaurant advocates that the sweets become a good digestive when we eat greasy foods. You may be at a loss which sweet you should choose because there are a lot of delicious healthy sweets like sweet soups of red beans or sesames, soy bean pudding, tea jelly, mango pudding...etc. All in all, "Tou Chou" is a nice place to enjoy a healthy, delicious food and sweet to satisfy both our bellies and our hungry mind.
