More and more, restaurants are starting to offer not only delicious foods and great service, but also all that in a special theme to differentiate among numerous competitors. This time, we'd like to introduce just such unique restaurant called "Ninja Akasaka" that both Japanese and foreigners can enjoy.
"Ninja Akasaka" is in Akasaka Tokyu Plaza, but their entrance is just as difficult to locate that of Ninja's secret hiding outpost. And after you find the entrance, you see the long downstairs that leads to mysterious ambience, at the end of which a Ninja welcomes you. This is just the beginning of a fascinating introduction to the Ninja world! The Ninja who guides you to the seats appears from the back door. On the way to the seat, you walk through the dark narrow path, sometimes over a stream flowing just underneath as if you are actually walking over the water, and you cross the bridge that would suddenly appear when Ninja utters a secret spell. Even just getting to the table is an exciting experience!
The seat you finally arrive at is the chamber fashioned like the secret meeting cove of the Ninjas. Another Ninja comes to your room bringing a roll of menu like a Ninja's secret memorandum. The structure of the restaurant is truely unique, and so are the contents of menu. Notably, the dishes with the name of "Ninpo" are special dishes that are invented with Ninja flair.
The dishes under "Special" category are performed on the table by Ninja, a spectacle by itself. You may experience Ninja magic just in front of you.

An "Escargot Bomb of turban shell" is an exciting dish where a fuse is lighted on the plate to add some additional thrill. |
 |
Sashimi (sliced raw fish) is dished up mysteriously as if it's floating on the air.
|
 |
Fried burdocks are dynamically arranged in a long bottle, crispy and light. |
 |
Shrimps dressed with mayonnaise, mixed with flesh of orange, are nestled charmingly in the orange rind. |
 |
The rice ball of eel is covered with the powder of blue seaweed and looks like a bomb. |
If you ask Ninja, you have access to secret dishes that are not written on the menu. One of such dishes is Chinjao-ro-su (Chinese dish), but it looks completely different from the usual Chinjao-ro-su. It's a boiled yellow pimento with baked beef. I must acknowledge their skills in cooking.
The sweets are also unique and interesting. One of them is a cookie that looks like "Bonsai" (potted plant), and other is a beautiful plate of miniature Japanese garden, and another is a frog shaped cheesecake. When you have a bite, you will be relieved to find out that looks can be deceiving.
"Ninja Akasaka" is really enjoyable and a wonderful restaurant.
